Most fundraising is a project: a dinner, a car wash, a raffle, a giving week. The volunteers work the event, money comes in, and then it stops. Fundraising that pays monthly is a different shape. It is a recurring commission on software subscriptions that families and clubs already keep using — paid to the organization (or to the person who shared the link) every month those subscriptions stay active.
This is not a guaranteed income stream and it is not a replacement for dues, sponsorships, or major gifts. It is a structural add-on: a partner link in the newsletter, the booster packet, or the club Slack, attached to apps people would reasonably use anyway. Read the earnings disclosure before drawing any income conclusions.
A bake sale, a car wash, or a gala has a start and an end. Revenue is the product of volunteer hours in that window. Next month, the organization is back at zero unless someone schedules the next event. That is fine for a capital campaign. It is a poor fit when the treasurer wants a small, boring line item that does not consume the same people every quarter.
Recurring app commissions invert the labor. The work is the recommendation — once, honestly, with a disclosure — and the commission continues only while the referred household stays subscribed. If they cancel, the commission stops. There is no inventory, no downline, and no second layer of recruiting. Residual Apps is not an MLM.
In Residual Apps, a partner refers someone to a portfolio app. If that person pays for a qualifying web subscription, the partner earns the published commission for that app while the subscription stays active. Payouts go to a bank account through Stripe Connect, $10 minimum, monthly (or biweekly at higher volume). Residual Apps keeps 20% of commissions earned, capped at $9.99/month, deducted from money already earned — never billed as a membership fee.
Joining is free. No credit card. No monthly membership. The retired pay-to-join prices are dead. Live rates are on residualapps.com/apps/ — do not rely on a blog post if the rate card and this article ever disagree; the rate card wins.
Honest baseline: most partners in this program currently earn $0. Commissions require a referred customer who both subscribes and stays subscribed. Results vary and are not typical. This is not a forecast.
Match the app to the community you already serve. A pickleball club should not lead with farm software. Published rates as of 2026-09-10:
BoingyBooks is not an earning app in this program yet. Do not share it as if a Residual Apps commission exists.
If a booster treasurer shares TaskTroll with twenty families, four subscribe at $2.50/month and stay for ten months, that is 4 × $2.50 × 10 = $100 gross before the 20% platform share. After the share, about $80 reaches the partner over those ten months — about $8/month while those four families stay active.
If zero families subscribe, the partner earns $0. That is the current typical outcome in this program. The arithmetic is an illustration of the rate card, not a projection, not an average, and not a promise. See the earnings disclosure.
Name a single owner (treasurer, booster president, or club secretary). They join free, copy the partner link from the hub, and put it in one existing channel: the monthly newsletter, the team app, or a QR on the concession stand. Use the Share Kit wording. Disclose the relationship in one sentence: “If a family subscribes through this link, the club earns a small monthly commission — the price is the same for them.”
Do not recruit members to recruit other members for a commission. There are no downlines. Do not promise a budget number. Do not run ads until John approves paid spend. For clubs that want the organization — not an individual — as the beneficiary, use the org rail at residualapps.com/fundraiser/.
Join Residual Apps free — no card required. Review live rates on /apps/. If the apps match your community, share one link this week and measure whether anyone actually subscribes. That conversion — not the signup — is the only number that matters.
