Partner referrals training

Set up referral links and payouts, explain the platform share, and help a new partner learn an app.

This guide covers your partner account, app links, commissions, and referring another partner. Use it alongside the product guide for the app you want to recommend. Program pages and dashboard source checked October 17, 2026.

1. What your partner account provides

ResidualApps gives you a free partner account with referral links for the participating app portfolio. You earn when an eligible customer makes a qualifying paid purchase attributed to your link. Joining requires no card and no paid monthly membership.

Your partner account is separate from a customer subscription to TaskTroll or another app. Becoming a partner does not automatically unlock every product’s paid features. If you want to demonstrate a paid feature, use an account that actually has access or explain the available preview honestly.

Start by learning one app well enough to recognize a good customer fit. A parent trying to simplify chores has a different need from a manager filling shifts. Your first useful skill is making that match and helping someone see the result for themselves.

2. Activate your account and find your way around

  1. Use Join free from ResidualApps, or Log in if you already have an account.
  2. Complete the requested signup and verification steps using your own details. If you already have an account, use its login or password recovery instead of creating duplicates.
  3. If the dashboard displays Activate my partner account — free, use that activation step.
  4. Open Dashboard for earnings, app activity, current rewards, and payout setup.
  5. Open Share for app links and QR codes. This view is designed to show a customer without displaying your earnings.
  6. Use Referrals to review referral information and the displayed earnings periods, and Payouts to review bank setup and payout history.
  7. Use Training to return to this library and Forum for product suggestions.

Do not confuse an old paid Insider membership description with today’s free partner activation. If your account shows an unexpected payment requirement for joining, stop and contact partners@residualapps.com rather than buying a customer plan just to get affiliate links.

From Share & QR codes, use Choose the app to share. Select the product your customer needs. The page offers its referral link and QR code; Show all app links expands the portfolio when needed.

Copy the current link generated by your dashboard. A plain homepage address tells someone where the product is but does not carry your partner attribution. Different app links route to different products, so do not substitute a RoutinePals link when recommending ParentDocket. Keep the complete link intact rather than manually changing its parameters.

A practical sharing sequence:

  1. Confirm which app solves the problem the person described.
  2. Read that app’s guide and current plans.
  3. Copy its referral link from Share.
  4. Add a short explanation of the relevant benefit and your commission disclosure.
  5. If meeting in person, show that app’s QR code and let the person scan it on their own device.
  6. Have them confirm that the expected product opens. They create their own account and make their own purchase decisions.

Copying a link or downloading a QR code is preparation. It does not prove anyone received the link, visited the product, or paid. Use the current dashboard links and QR codes, especially if you saved older promotional material before the per-app tracking update.

Do not promise attribution will survive every device change, unrelated browser, or store purchase route. If a customer changes paths and attribution is uncertain, ask program support rather than guaranteeing credit. Never make test purchases or duplicate accounts to manufacture activity.

4. Understand gross commission and your platform share

The Apps & payouts catalog and dashboard show gross rewards for qualifying paid referrals. Products can have monthly, annual, and one-time offers. The amount depends on the product and plan; a free signup and a free trial are not completed paid sales.

The standard partner platform share is 20% of your qualifying customer commissions, capped at $9.99 per month. Partner-referral override income is not charged that platform share. No fee-bearing earnings means no platform fee. The cap applies to the monthly share, not separately to every app.

These simplified examples show the calculation before other adjustments:

Gross commissions earned during a month Standard platform share Amount after that share
$0 $0 $0
$20 $4 $16
$100 $9.99, because of the monthly cap $90.01

These examples explain arithmetic; they are not typical-result claims or income projections. Refunds, reversals, eligibility periods, and any other applicable adjustments can change the amount available for payout. The actual ledger and current payout terms govern.

Annual rewards are associated with qualifying annual charges. Do not divide an annual commission into twelve and promise a monthly bank deposit. A lifetime or event purchase is a one-time sale unless a later separate qualifying purchase occurs. Recurring commission requires continuing qualifying paid activity; it is not guaranteed lifetime income.

5. Set up payouts and read their status

You can prepare and share links before connecting a bank. To receive payouts, use Set up payouts on Dashboard or Connect bank account on Payouts. Stripe handles the bank and identity verification. Enter your information directly in that setup flow; do not give your banking details or verification codes to another affiliate.

The published minimum payout is $10. The program describes monthly payouts by default, with biweekly frequency at higher referral volume. Use the frequency and next date shown for your account rather than promising a specific first payday.

Check these separately:

What you see What it means
Account connected A Stripe connection exists; required verification may still be incomplete
Payouts pending setup Finish the outstanding payout requirements
Pending A payment or balance has not completed the payout process
In Transit A payout is moving through the payment process
Paid The payout record is marked paid; reconcile it with your bank
Failed or Cancelled Review the record and contact support if necessary

An earnings number is not itself proof of a bank deposit. If a payout is missing, check verification, eligible balance, the displayed schedule, and the individual payout status. Give program support the relevant date and error message; keep bank account details within Stripe’s own support or verification flow.

6. Read activity without mistaking it for sales

Dashboard includes earnings and app activity; Referrals provides additional referral and period information. Start with the distinction between a visit, a registered prospect, a paying customer, an earned commission, and an executed payout.

A link click can show interest but may be your own preview or a repeat visit. A customer may register and decide not to buy. A trial may end without payment. A paid purchase may still be in a pending period or later refunded. Each step answers a different question.

Use a small learning record for yourself: the audience need, app discussed, question they asked, whether they tried a useful workflow, and the next step they actually agreed to. Avoid collecting private household, medical, financial, or login information. The purpose is to learn whether your explanation helped.

If many people ask the same question, use the product guide or official support to improve your answer. Do not infer that every click without a sale means the price is wrong or that more messages are needed.

7. How partner referrals work

The portfolio includes a Partner referrals option. Its link invites someone to join the free ResidualApps program. It is different from an app-customer link.

Published partner-referral terms provide 10% of a directly referred partner’s qualifying commissions plus 10% of the platform fee collected from those earnings. This is one tier. There is no reward just for a free partner signup and no recruitment threshold that must be reached before this share applies.

For a simplified example, if a standard referred partner earns $20 in qualifying customer commissions, their standard platform fee is $4. The referring partner’s gross share would be $2 from those commissions plus $0.40 from that fee, or $2.40. That partner-referral share is not itself charged the 20% platform fee; eligibility and refund adjustments can still apply. This is a calculation example only.

Approved fundraisers and sales associates pay no platform fee under the published terms, so referring one can generate the qualifying commission share but no share of a nonexistent fee. Do not claim that referring partners creates additional levels of payment through people they later recruit.

Check the current earnings page and your account’s terms before quoting. If a person only joins and never makes qualifying sales, that signup produces no referral commission.

8. Invite someone who can use the program

A good prospective partner already understands a customer group and is willing to learn the app they recommend. They could be a coach, a creator, a small-business contact, or someone who naturally helps a community solve a relevant problem. A large follower count is not proof they are a fit.

Ask:

  1. “Which people regularly ask you for recommendations?”
  2. “Which problem from this app portfolio do you understand?”
  3. “Would you be willing to learn the workflow and show it honestly?”

Then explain free joining, the earned-commission platform share, qualifying sales, and the absence of guaranteed income. Use the Partner referrals link from your own Share page if they want to join.

Example invitation to adapt when appropriate:

“You often help people with [their actual need]. ResidualApps has an app for that and a free referral program. If you want to explore it, I can point you to the product training so you can decide whether it is useful for your audience. Partners earn on qualifying purchases, and the program keeps a capped share of earned commissions. I may earn a share if you join through my link and later make qualifying sales.”

Do not frame it as a salaried job, guaranteed side income, a payment for recruiting names, or a requirement to purchase an app. Help an interested new partner learn one product and prepare a real demonstration. Getting someone registered is only the beginning of their learning.

9. A useful customer conversation

Use a simple sequence: ask, match, demonstrate, check, and offer a next step.

Ask: “What happens today when you try to manage this?” Listen for a specific problem rather than starting with the entire catalog.

Match: Explain one relevant outcome. For a shift manager, that might be a clearer published schedule. For a puppy owner, it might be tracking daily care. Use the product guide to establish what is actually available.

Demonstrate: Show the smallest complete workflow using fictional data. Let the prospect see the result, not just a list of features. If a paid feature is unavailable in your demo account, say so.

Check: “Would this fit the way you work?” A mismatch is useful information. Recommend another app only if it genuinely meets the stated need.

Offer: Give the current product referral link with a clear disclosure. State the actual free or paid entry option. Let the person choose the next step and control their own account.

The individual guides contain product-specific conversation examples and readiness exercises. Partner training follows your email preferences. Use a person’s preferences and the rules of the place where you communicate with prospects.

10. Disclose and make claims you can support

Place a clear commission disclosure with the recommendation. A simple version is: “I’m a Residual Apps partner and may earn a commission if you buy through my link.” For a partner invitation, explain that you may earn a share when the referred partner makes qualifying sales.

Describe your actual experience. If you have only practiced with sample data, say that rather than claiming a personal result. Do not invent testimonials, customer counts, savings, typical earnings, or product capabilities.

Use approved places to share and follow community rules. Respect a person’s refusal or request to stop. Do not post repetitive promotions into unrelated conversations. Keep demonstrations free of real customer data, and never request a prospect’s password, payment card, or sign-in code.

Medical, legal, and animal-care products require especially careful wording. Explain their software functions and direct personal advice questions to an appropriate professional. A draft letter, care record, or estimated date is not a guarantee of a real-world outcome.

11. Troubleshooting and support

I cannot sign in: Use the correct partner login and the account’s recovery process. Check requested email verification. Do not create repeated duplicate accounts.

I see an activation screen: Use the free partner activation offered there. It is not a purchase of TaskTroll or another app.

Automatic copy fails: Select the displayed referral link and copy it manually. Check that you copied the entire link and the correct app.

The QR code opens the wrong product: Re-select the app and obtain a fresh QR code from Share. Retire the incorrect copy rather than asking a customer to navigate away and hoping attribution survives.

I see clicks but no earnings: Clicks are not paid sales. Review the referral and payout information before making assumptions, then ask support if a specific qualifying transaction seems missing.

A reward differs from the guide: Recheck the current app catalog, your dashboard, and the customer’s actual plan. Ask for clarification when the descriptions conflict; do not promise the most favorable interpretation.

A feature question is unanswered: Use the product’s official support for product behavior and partners@residualapps.com for partner-account or commission questions. Include the app, page, date, device, and non-sensitive error details.

12. Practice and readiness check

Practice a five-minute walkthrough of your own account. Find your chosen app in Share, identify the link and QR code, locate the app’s training, explain the current gross reward, and find payout setup. Rehearse without sending anything or making a purchase.

Then answer:

  1. Does joining cost $9.99 per month? No. Joining is free; $9.99 is the cap on the standard monthly share of earned commissions.
  2. Does copying a link mean you made a sale? No. It only prepares a link for sharing.
  3. What happens to $20 in standard gross monthly commissions before other adjustments? The platform share is $4, leaving $16.
  4. Does a free partner signup earn a commission? No. Partner-referral rewards depend on qualifying sales by that partner.
  5. Does an annual or one-time plan guarantee monthly payouts? No. Explain the actual qualifying purchase and payout schedule.
  6. Can you promise every browser or store path preserves attribution? No. Use the current app link and resolve uncertainty with support.
  7. What should a prospect understand before accepting your link? The relevant app benefit, available entry option, important limits, and your commission disclosure.

You are ready to recommend your first app when you can explain those answers, demonstrate a useful workflow, and recognize when a question needs official support.

13. Tell us your goals and get help making progress

Open Partner Care with your own partner email. Complete the private email verification when requested; verification confirms control of the address and does not establish a background check or guarantee a person’s identity. Daily training enrollment requires a verified email and an active training preference. Use the supplied preference controls if you want to stop training.

Tell us the income goal you would like to work toward, why it matters, your target date, the time you can realistically spend each week, the audience you understand, and the app you want to learn first. You may revise your goal as you learn. Goals help us focus support; they are not an earnings forecast or a promise of sales.

The existing daily training arrives at 9 AM Central. The Sunday edition in that same daily slot provides a personal weekly check-in using the goals and progress you choose to share. Record the conversations, demonstrations, agreed follow-ups and qualifying paid sales you actually completed, what worked, and your biggest blocker. Choose one manageable next action for the coming week. Count clicks and free trials separately from paid sales.

If your goal is too large for the time available, adjust the next action instead of making unsupported promises or pressuring prospects. Feedback and check-ins help us see where you need help. A submitted response is not a promise of an immediate personal reply. Keep prospect and customer identities out of the portal.

Use the app and help us improve it

Use the app yourself before recommending it. Complete one useful workflow in your own account or an authorized demo, then find the saved result again. A paid subscription is not required to become a partner; use the free option or an available preview and be clear about what you have actually tried.

If you use this app, tell us what works, where you get stuck, bugs you can reproduce, and what you wish it did next in Partner Care. Include the app, web/iOS/Android, installed version or browser version, steps, expected result, and what happened. Say whether it affects your own use or a demonstration. Please report unclear training or a screen that differs from this guide too.

Keep customer names, email addresses, medical records, payment details, passwords, and sign-in codes out of feedback. Use fictional examples and remove private information from screenshots. Urgent account or billing problems still belong with the product support route above.
